Smedvig gets contract for T-9 in Malaysia

Norwegian offshore drilling company Smedvig has been awarded an about US$ 66 million contract extension for The tender rig T-9, in which Smedvig owns 49 percent, by ExxonMobil in Malaysia, announced on 1 August.
     The production drilling assignment has covered of three years. Commencement of operations is scheduled in mid-January 2006, in direct continuation of the existing contract.
     ExxonMobil has the right to terminate the contract after one year.
