Norwegian offshore drilling company Smedvig has been awarded a contract extension for tender rig T-3, in which Smedvig owns 49 percent by PTT in Thailand, announced on 9 September.
The production drilling assignment is scheduled for 14 months, from November 2006 until end 2007, with an option for a further six months.
The contract value is around US$ 20 million for the firm period.
