Aker Kvaerner Signs $200 Million Singapore Rig Order

Norwegian offshore contractor Aker Kvaerner has obtained a deal worth about $200 million from Singapore’s Jurong Shipyard for two deepwater drilling systems, the company reported on 3 October. 
         “The contract also includes an option for delivery of identical drilling systems for two additional rigs,” says Aker Kvaerner. 
         The first of two fresh deepwater drilling rigs will be delievered to Seatankers Management Co. Ltd at the beginning of 2008. The second will be prepared at the beginning of 2009.
Jurong Shipyard is a unit of SembCorp Marine.
