Danish Christmas Event in Hanoi This Sunday

Christmas is coming up faster than you can say “shopping spree”. So if Denmark seems far away here at the brink of this annual holiday season and if you’ve got the craving for some great, traditional Danish Christmas food like ‘frikadeller og kartoffelsalat’, ‘laks’, ‘sild’ and ‘rugbrød’, then the Hanoi International Womens Club has just the right event planned for you. The club’s annual “Christmas Bazar” is taking place at UNIS in Hanoi this Sunday (November 27) from 10am to 4pm.

This year, Denmark is represented with a so-called “craft shop” and an anticipated “eating tent”, where traditional Danish food such as open sandwiches with salmon, heering, meat balls and potato salad – which of course can be “washed down” with snaps and perhaps a Carlsberg beer.

A group of Danes have created various Christmas ornaments and decorations, which will be sold to anyone desiring to deck their domestic halls with Danish bows of holly. The profit will be spent in the charity work of the Hanoi International Womens Club.
