A seminar on gender equality issues in Sweden and Malaysia will take place at Crowne Plaza Mutiara Hotel in Kuala Lumpur on June 5.
The Swedish Embassy is organizing the event with the Department of Women Development from the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development in consultation with the Joint Action Group for Gender Equality (JAG).
The seminar provides the participants with opportunities to learn about gender equality and its benefits as well as issues of gender mainstreaming in Sweden and Malaysia.
The event will be honored by YB Dato’ Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil – Minister of Women, Family and Community Development. Two speakers from Sweden will share the Swedish experience of gender mainstreaming while the three Malaysian speakers will talk about gender equality development in Malaysia. The seminar will end with a Q & A session where the audience is welcome to express their thoughts.
