Indonesian, Finnish Leaders Meet after ASEM

Yudhoyono, who was greeted by President Tarja Halonen in a ceremony on the waterfront of the presidential palace, also met Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen and lawmakers.
Yudhoyono and Halonen attended the signing of a trade deal between Indonesia and Finland aimed at increasing investments.
The two presidents discussed international issues, including reconstruction after the 2004 tsunami, the Aceh peace agreement between Indonesia’s government and an Aceh separatist rebel that was brokered by former Finnish President Martti Ahtisaari, and the recent Israeli-Hezbollah conflict in Lebanon.
Yudhoyono warned that “the negative effects” of the conflict could spread to the whole Muslim world.
During Asia-Europe meeting (ASEM) on September 10-11, the Indonesian leader also held bilateral talks with leaders of several countries.
On Wednesday, Yudhoyono was scheduled to meet Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg in Oslo and planned to make a courtesy call on Crown Prince Haakon.
