The weather conditions were absolutely perfect as the golfers began their rounds on the course of Muang Kaew Golf Club on Sunday the 29th of October. A comfortable low relative humidity, sunshine but not too hot gave the best possible conditions for good results.
A record number of 70 golfers decided to spend this Sunday trying to win the Volvo Cup 2006.The golfers took advantage of the excellent weather conditions and made high scores.
Kob Støve scored 42 points making her the winner of the Volvo Cup 2006 and the A-group. Peter Bolther was runner up and Bjørn Bjerkaas ended third. Not only did Kob Støve win the Cup. The victory also earned her a place in the Pro/Am of Volvo Masters Asia taking place in Thailand in December.
In the B group Annette Haraldsson triumphed. Per Hollertz was second and Khun Somsak came third.
With a record 41 points Svend Dalhberg won the C group and Khun Wichien won the CC & guest group with a net score of 72.
After the game it was time for dinner and drinks. During dinner prizes donated by Volvo were handed out.
Inge Larsson won a prize for getting closest to the pin on hole number 3, Jan Högström on hole number 7, while the cup winner, Kob Støve, managed to get closest to the pin on both 14th and 17th hole.
Jiambutr Petcharat and Bjarne Kjersner won prizes for making the longest drive on hole number 4.
