Vietnamese CDEF Winner Awarded Trip to Denmark

Pham Tuan Hung, a Vietnamese composer along with his composition “Summer Night”, on December 08 won the Talent Prize 2006 of Danish-Vietnamese Culture Development and Exchange Fund (CDEF) which is an education trip to Denmark in spring 2007.
The prize was handed over to the young talented composer Pham Tuan Hung by Peter Lysholt Hansen, the Danish ambassador to Vietnam and also a chairman of the CDEF, together with Vietnam’s Vice Minister of Culture and Information at a grand gala evening in Hanoi Opera in a 35 years anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Pham Tuan Hung, the comprising of experimental music composer, expressed his utmost gratitude towards CDEF and promised to keep on experimenting and exploring new music.
Each year, the CDEF awards the outstanding young Vietnamese artist within a specific arts sector. In 2006, the prize was in the field of contemporary and experimental music composition as to support the development of contemporary music and the exploration of new musical pastures. Next year, another promising, young, Vietnamese artist will be identified and awarded the CDEF Talent Prize 2007 – within the field of experimental short films.
