Denmark Set To Boost Relations With Malaysia

Denmark is set to enhance its relations with Malaysia in all areas, particularly in environment and energy cooperation, following the visit of its Foreign Minister Dr Per Stig Moller here.
Despite widespread anger in Muslim-majority nations worldwide over a Danish newspaper’s publication of a cartoon of Prophet Muhammad over a year ago, Dr Moller said, his visit here was to boost the country’s relations with Malaysia.
“There is no problem with relations between Denmark and Malaysia, and there is also no problem between Denmark and other countries around here,” he said when asked to comment on relations between the two countries in the wake of the cartoon incident.
“I want to boost relations between the two countries,” he told reporters after the opening of the Malaysian-Danish Energy Efficiency Seminar 2007 here.
The seminar was jointly opened by Dr Moller and Energy, Water and Communications Minister Datuk Seri Dr Lim Keng Yaik.
The Danish foreign minister and his delegation were on a three-day visit from Tuesday.
