The Admiral is Closing, Moving and Re-opening

One of the best places in town for Danish meat balls and Scandinavian food in general is moving from its current location at Sukhumvit Soi 18 – where it has been located for the past 7 years – to Soi 27.
“The reason is that our owners see more business potential in building condos”, says co-owner of The Admiral, Bent Laasholdt. “We had hoped for another 6 years as we were originally promised”, he says.
He is happy to announce that The Admiral will open up in a new location later this year if all goes well. “The new place is a little bit smaller, but we will continue our style with a restaurant, pub, and playground for the children, swimming pool and so on”, says Bent Laasholdt. The new premises also have a lot more private parking space than did the old Admiral in Soi 18.
“We are hoping to find a temporary location for our restaurant. Maybe just a small place to sell open sandwiches”, says Bent. It is difficult for the restaurant to relocate as it has to store the interior for months before they re-open and a temporary place could facilitate the change.
“We are also keeping our staff and we are paying them during the time when the restaurant is closed”, Bent says.  The last day of the old Admiral is April 15th and hopefully the new place will be up and running before Christmas.
