Danida Trained Journalists About Reporting Pollution Control

Danida organized a two-day training workshop on how to communicate news about pollution and environment to nearly 40 journalists in Vietnam.
The overall objective of the training was to give the participants a better technique of formulating a message on environmental pollution. This is very important in the efforts of raising public environmental awareness.
Four topics were in focus in the training: pollution control and its impact on people’s life, how to organize the participation of the community in pollution control, the role of mass media in pollution control, and enhancing communication skills for journalists in pollution control.
The participants said they had a fruitful training. It will be interesting to see the impact in newspapers, on television and in the radio.
