Business Association Helps Danida Supports Children With HIV/AIDS

Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) which is part of Danida’s Business Sector Program Support collects used children’s clothes among their staff in order to support children living with HIV/AIDS.
“The donation of children’s clothes is most needed and we are very thankful of this initiative from the VCCI. We hope to receive more support from the business community in the future,” said Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Van representing the four groups receiving the clothes which are Blue Dream Club, Center for Children and Women’s Development, Sunflower Group in Hanoi and Flamboyant Flower Group in Hai Phong.
“The VCCI and the business community are willing to do charity and hope to get more opportunities to support social activities in the future,” said Mr. Vu Tien Loc, President of the VCCI at the ceremony where VCCI handed over the clothes to the clubs.
“This is one of the outcomes of Denmark’s support to HIV/AIDS activities within the VCCI,” said Mr. Hung, the trade union representative of the VCCI HIV/AIDS Committee.
VCCI is the implementing partner of the sub-component “HIV/AIDS at the workplace” supported Danida’s Business Sector Program Support (BSPS).
With the support from BSPS, VCCI has implemented its own HIV/AIDS workplace policy and has since been very active on HIV/AIDS activities.
