Finland Financed Vietnam’s Haiphong Water Plant

The state-owned one-member Haiphong Water Supply Ltd., Co. has commissioned a water treatment plant, VND 17.4 billion water plant financed by loans from the Finnish Development Agency (FINIDA) designed to turn out 1,300 cubic meters of water daily in Minh Duc Town in Haiphong City’s Thuy Nguyen District, Vietnam after 10 months of construction, reported Dau Tu on 31 July, 2007.
 Finland established diplomatic relations with Vietnam on January 25th, 1973 and the two countries have maintained a policy of close friendship and cooperation in which many programs and projects for cooperative development have been implemented in Vietnam with great and meaningful assistance from the Finnish people and government. 
  Of these, the Water Supply and Sanitation Project is the one bearing the deep impressions of development cooperation between Vietnam and Finland in general and between Haiphong and Finland in particular. 
 Haiphong authorities highly appreciate the assistance given by government and people of Finland. These projects have made remarkable contributions to the city socio-economic development. The joint execution of the projects has provided a better understanding between Haiphong people and Finnish experts.  Many Finnish friends consider Haiphong a second family of their own.
