Sweden holds referendum on Euro introduction

The Swedish government has decided arrange referendum 14 September 2003 on the introduction of the euro. All Swedish citizens who, according to the Elections Act, fulfill the requirements to vote in Swedish Riksdag (parliamentary) elections will be entitled to vote in the referendum. Persons entitled to vote in the Swedish local elections will also be able to participate.
     The question all Swedes will have to address is simply: Do you think Sweden should introduce the euro as its official currency? So are the answering alternatives. They are yes or no. A blank ballot may also be casted.
