The DTCC Annual General Meeting 2008: Goodbye to Leo Alexandersen.

In beautiful settings in the Royal Danish Embassy garden, the DTCC Annual General Meeting 2008 took place on March the 6th.
Around 60 people, representing most of the Danish leading companies in Thailand, met up to be part of the meeting followed by a sumptuous, outdoor dinner.
This year it was time to say goodbye to Leo Alexandersen, who left as President of DTCC after three years, from 2005-2008. He handed over the job to Peter E. Romhild, who is Sr. Executive Vice President in Berli Jucker Public Company Ltd.
The AGM started with the election of Poul Weber as director of the meeting. He gave the word back to Leo Alexandersen to give a short summary of last years’ DTCC activities.

During the past year 14 new corporate members and 15 new individual members have joined the organization and in total Leo Alexandersen estimated that currently some 50.000 people are employed in Thailand by members of the Danish Thai Chamber of Commerce.
After a presentation by treasurer Soren Presmann of the financial situation of the Chamber, which had improved again, the meeting proceeded to the election of four new board members among five candidates. The meeting elected John Fotiadis, Tilleke & Gibbins International Ltd., Thomas Gullacksen, A.P. Moeller-Maersk, Robert Kronberg, PIRO Consulting Group, and Poul Skov-Petersen, Firexpress.
After the General Meeting, Peter Romhild held a touching speech to Leo Alexandersen:
“The last three years have been three very good years. It’s a voluntary job, but you have certainly put a lot of hours into it. Thank you very much. We hope to see you around for many years.”
Peter Romhild gave flowers to Mrs Eid Alexandersen and a gift to Leo Alexandersen who was grateful for the speech and the presents.
“Gentlemen, ladies, I’m very overwhelmed and happy. Thank you very much,” he said.
Ambassador Michael Sternberg then gave a short briefing on the plans for a big, exciting event to happen later this year in celebration of the 150 years anniversary of Danish-Thai diplomatic relationship. Scheduled for November, it will now hopefully be possible to arrange a visit to Thailand of HRH Crown Prince Frederik and HRH Crown Princess Mary.
The evening ended with a delicious three-course outdoor dinner in the lovely, green embassy garden.
