The Swedish Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Carl Bildt, visits Indonesia 21-22 April at the invitation of the Indonesian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr. N. Hassan Wirajuda. The visit is the first bilateral visit by a Swedish Foreign Minister in Indonesia.
The consultations in Jakarta will cover bilateral, regional and global issues. In connection with the visit, the Human Rights Dialogue between Sweden and Indonesia will be launched. Meetings with academics, think tanks, parliamentarians and business representatives are also included in the programme.
During the same week, several activities involving the Swedish Embassy in Jakarta in cooperation with Indonesian counterparts, will take place.
The first formal meeting and workshop of the Sweden-Indonesia Human Rights Dialogue will be organised 23-25 April. Furthermore, the seminar “Sustainable Cities – Challenges for Indonesia and Sweden” will take place on 24 April.
