Finnish Conductor Will Lead The Malaysian Philharmonik Orchestra In Classical Masterpieces

The
Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) showcases its virtuosity through
classical masterpieces on Saturday May 31, 2008 and June 1 (3pm) at Dewan
Filharmonik Petronas (DFP), KLCC.
    Finnish
conductor Hannu Lintu will lead the Malaysian Philharmonik Orchestra in
classical masterpieces.
    Under the
baton of Hannu Lintu, the MPO will perform Franz Joseph
Haydn’s Symphony No.103 in E Flat and Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No.10.
    This will
be Lintu’s second collaboration with the MPO after his successful performances
with the Orchestra in 05/06 Season. The prolific recording artist has released
CDs with the Finnish Radio Symphony, Danish National Radio Symphony and Royal
Scottish National Orchestra.
    In the
field of opera, he has conducted a number of productions including Richard
Wagner’s Parsifal, Georges Bizet’s Carmen and Aulis Sallinen’s King Lear.
