Young Filipino Gets Scholarship Grant In Denmark

A student
of the University of St. La Salle Integrated School (USLS-IS)-Bacolod City was
chosen as the lone Philippine representative to the Camp Rising Sun training
from June 26- August 21, in Stendis, Holstebro, Denmark.
    Chosen was
Grace Olivar, 15, a consistent honor student at USLS-IS, who leads the Kabulig
Organization, a school-based group on community outreach.
    The camp,
which started in 2001, is aimed at training young girls from various ethnic,
cultural and economic backgrounds and to develop friendship across boarders.
    Magdalena
Musiala of Denmark, camp director, said that it has so far trained 50
participants all over the world and this is the first time that the Philippines is
represented.
