Singapore’s Temasek Appoints Swedish bank SEB Chair As Board Member

Singapore
state-linked investment company Temasek Holdings (Private) Limited said on
Tuesday it has appointed Marcus Wallenberg, chairman of Swedish bank
Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken, as a board member effective July 8.

    Wallenberg,
51 and a Swedish national, also chairs several other companies that belong to
the network of the Swedish investment company Investor AB, including aviation
and military technology company SAAB
AB
and consumer appliance
manufacturer AB Electrolux.

    Wallenberg
also holds the position of deputy chairman at Swedish telecom giant Ericsson.

    Temasek said
Wallenberg recently served as chairman of the International Chamber of
Commerce.

    Temasek
manages an investment portfolio of over $100 billion as of end-March.

    The funds
have mostly been invested in Singapore
and the rest of Asia, while a fifth of the portfolio
has been parked in developed Western economies.
