The Swedish Trade Council Is Soon to Move into Their Office in Bangkok

The Swedish Trade Council will move into their office at Anthenee Tower at Wireless Road on 1 September 2008. It will be a light beginning with only two staff members, Head of Office Hakan Nylander and Mr. Ongarch Phatanachinda.
According to Mr. Nylander the office will soon extend:
”We started up the office in Kuala Lumpur two years ago, and there are already six employees. I’m sure we can reach that level in Bangkok as well.”
The Trade Council is working close together with the Swedish Embassy prior to the opening. Neither Håkan Nylander nor the commercial counselor at the Swedish Embassy, Kaarlo Laakso, foresee any problems overlapping each other.
“Our primary task is to support as many Swedish companies, who wants to export to Thailand, as possible. We have more insight than the companies and therefore we can see more opportunities for them,” Hakan Nylander explains.
According to Kaarlo Laakso the Embassy will continue taking care of the broad activities, such as promotion of Sweden. He is looking forward to the cooperation:
“I expect us to work excellent together with close relations.”

The aim of Sweden is to have trade offices in all South East Asian countries. Next step will be Jakarta.
