New Norwegian Ambassador To Indonesia

H.E. Eivind
S. Homme handed over his credentials to His Excellency President Susilo Bambang
Yudhojono during a state ceremony at the Presidential Palace on August 12. Coming
from the position as Deputy Director General 
for The section for East Asia and Oceania in the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs in Oslo since 2005, Mr Homme has already
had the privilege to visit Indonesia
and being introduced to the Indonesian society. He has in his previous position
also taken an active part in building up the excellent and active relationship
which exist between Indonesia
and Norway.
    Following
his first posting in Manila in 1986, Mr. Homme has developed a strong interest
in Asia and his last posting abroad was as Deputy Chief of Mission in Beijing
from 2001-2005. He has also served at the Norwegian Embassy in Rome dealing
with the UN organizations there, and was for 5 years the Press and Cultural
Councellor at the Norwegian Embassy in Washington D.C. Mr Homme is accompanied
to Jakarta by his wife and two children.
    “I am most
honoured and happy with the appointment as Norwegian Ambassador to Indonesia. I
look forward to do my best for further developing the ties of friendship and
cooperation between our two countries,” Mr Homme said during a small hand over
ceremony at the Embassy. Here the previous Ambassador, Mr Bjørn Blokhus, who
now will be Norway‘s
new Ambassador to Morocoo, handed over the keys of the Embassy to Mr. Homme.
