The President’s Cup at Calatagan and Coral Beach was, as usual, full
of surprises, and this year President Hans Haase really surpassed
himself.
Once again, Hans invited for a “Raft” party after saturdays game, and
this time it consisted of a magnificent overflow of lobsters and
Champagne, as well as boat trips on his private Bangka, M.V. “Mayor
Hans”.
At 7.00pm we gathered for our usual dinner, but most of us being
pretty full after the Lobster party; Hans pulled another surprise, and
led the whole group to a lavishly decorated tent on the beach, where his
local Barangay and a band from Manila were ready with lots of prices,
games, dancing, and fun.
What a party!! – On behalf of all the participants, a BIG thanks to Hans
for his unrivaled and joyful imagination.
Sunday was President’s Cup, and we played a new format with
stablefort on the front-nine, and system 36 on the back-nine, to
balance the chances for everybody to win. Staffan came out on top in
both the stablefort and the strokeplay formats, and thus fully deserved
to win this years edition of the President’s Cup.
Some pictures are uploaded to the front page already, but more will
follow in the photo gallery shortly. Also the results will be uploaded
early next week.
Already next week we meet again for Eimie’s end-of-year event, which
will be held at Villamor, in support of the Ladies division. Villamor is in
the best shape for many years, and we hope to see many
Scandinavians for this event. Please sign up very rapidly !!
We shall have a special slot for tee off starting 11.30am, and a dinner
is included at 6.00pm at the clubhouse, where we shall also have our
december monthly awarding.
There is no tournament scheduled for January, and failing any
organizers for a January event, our first 2009 tournament will be in
Boracay Fairways and Blue Water on February 7-8th.
