Vietnamese-American footballer Lee Nguyen looks likely to sign a contract to play for V-League former champions Hoang Anh Gia Lai Club next season. Nguyen is now playing for Randers FC, a Danish club coming sixth in the national championship.
Nguyen arrived in Vietnam early this week for a try out at Gia Lai club where the club’s technical director Nguyen Van Vinh and his staff will be assessing Lee’s suitability for next year’s V-League football season.
Nguyen will get the chance to prove himself with the HAGL team in friendly matches over the coming weeks.
Nguyen’s sporting profile boasts games for PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands in 2005 and an award for best player in the student football competition in 2006. In the same year, he racked up caps with the U20 US team in the World Championships in the Netherlands.
In June last year, he lined out for the US team which beat China in a friendly home game in San Jose, California.
