About 225 members and guests of the Danish Business Association of Singapore (DABS) celebrated DABS’ 20th anniversary at the 3rd Annual Ball held at Singapore’s prestigious Raffles Hotel on October 25, 2003. The cocktail evening started at 6.30 p.m. with lots of entertainment followed, including a wonderful show by world famous Danish entertainer Eddie Skoller.
“This year is very special for DABS as we celebrate our 20th anniversary. During the past two decades DABS has arranged more than 180 functions providing a platform and a meeting place for Danish companies in Singapore,” said DABS President, Soren Schouw Pedersen, in his opening speech.
“DABS is today a very healthy and strong organization. This is in part thanks to the many DABS committee members who devote both time and work to put the various arrangements together,” he continued.
As also said by Mr. Pedersen in his speech, there should be no doubt that the most popular DABS event of the year by far is the Annual Ball.
With support from the Danish business community in Singapore, the entrance fees to the Annual Ball this year was maintained at levels of previous years, and yet secure the most attractive entertainment.
Just like in the two times before, everybody had a great time at the ball. Eddie Skoller delivered a fabulous show. Everyone cheered him and wouldn’t let him leave the room! After the delicious dinner and splendid Eddie Skoller show, the Thomson Swing Band played lively swing and big band music. Famous DJ Jason, Anywhere also did an excellent job and the response from the ball was wonderful through to the end of the annual event late at around 2.30 a.m.
And, the very attractive first prize of the lucky draw this year, BeoSound 1 Music System, went to Mr. Frank Dreijer Jepsen, Maersk Olie og Gas.
