Malaysian Students Win Computer Quiz Organized by Finnish F-Secure

Three students from Universiti Sains Malaysia have won a study trip to Helsinki. The trio are the recent winners of the National Inter-Varsity Security Tech Quiz Championship 08/09 held in Kuala Lumpur last month. The trip will bring them to cybersecurity expert F-Secure’s corporate headquarters in Helsinki, Finland.
The quiz, organised by F-Secure, aims to promote cybersecurity awareness. Some 56 teams from 17 universities and colleges around Malaysia participated. According to F-Secure it is Malaysia’s first inter-varsity quiz on ICT security.
F-Secure hopes the quiz will encourage computer science, computer information systems, and computer forensics students in local universities to become world-class experts.
The quiz was endorsed by industry regulator the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission and MSC Malaysia initiative guardian, the Multimedia Development Corporation.
The Finnish company F-Secure provides IT security and has 16 country offices and a presence in more than 100 countries, with Security Lab operations in Helsinki in Finland, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, and San Jose in the United States.
