Swedish investigation on GAM still on

The Swedish Prosecutor General’s International Public Prosecution Office in Stockholm is still collecting material for its investigation about the Free Aceh Movement’s, GAM, activities in Sweden.
“There is no conclusion yet. We are still waiting for some more information from Indonesia,” says an official at the prosecutor’s office to Scandasia.
It was after a visit to Sweden by an Indonesian delegation led by HE Ali Atlas 11-12 June 2003, aiming to inform Stockholm about the Indonesian government’s view on GAM including allegations by Jakarta against GAM-leaders in Stockholm, that the investigation was launched.
Sweden’s official line is that it respects and honours Indonesia’s territorial right to Aceh, a province GAM wants independence for, and at the same time has no reason to deny GAM the right to a different view as long as the movement doesn’t break any Swedish laws.
