Norwegian Ambassador to Thailand, Mrs. Ragne Birte Lund hosted this year’s Garden Party of the Scandinavian Society Siam. The party was very successful with more than 150 paying guests who had a splendid time enjoying the Norwegian buffet followed by a good mix of music for the dance floor.
A special dinner speech was held by Arne Hjeltnes, Chief Representative for South East Asia of the Norwegian Seafood Export Council. While Arne Hjeltnes is well known from Norwegian TV among the Norwegian members of the Scandinavian Society Siam, he was unknown to most of the other Nordic members. But his extremely witty speech made up for that and he will for sure be remembered for his great humour by all members in the future.
Apart from him and the Ambassador, other speakers of the evening included the chairman, Mr. Hakan Alm and the newly crowned Miss Thailand World, who is half-Thai and Swedish by nationality but whose father is in fact Danish.
