On Monday, Caroline Wozniacki celebrated her achievement as moving up the list – all the way to the top – of the women’s tennis world rankings.
And at the same time she recorded one of her biggest tournament victories in the career.
The 20-year-old beat second-seed, world number three, Vera Zvonareva in three sets – 6-3, 3-6, 6-3.
It was the Danes sixth tournament victory on this year’s WTA Tour.
It is now very likely that the Danish tennis sensation will end 2010 as the world’s leader in women’s tennis.
