Movie Star Jackie Chan Praises Norwegian Salmon

The world famous actor Jackie Chan recently promoted Norwegian Salmon with chef Nobu Matsuhisa when Nobu restaurant opened in Beijing. The Norwegian Seafood Export Council provided a range of seafood products from Norway to the celebrity opening.


Norwegian Ambassador Svein B. Sæther attended the event together with Director Åshild Nakken of the Norwegian Seafood Export Council. Jackie Chan, who chose to spend his birthday attending the opening, expressed his thanks for the contribution of Norwegian Seafood to all the present media and highlighted that the salmon coming from Norway has no radiation.


Nobu is known as one of the world’s most exclusive modern Japanese restaurants and have 27 restaurants worldwide. Established by chef Nobu Matsuhisa it sports famous co-owners such as Robert de Niro. Nobu Beijing has a Norwegian executive chef; Øyvind Næsheim. He has previously been in charge of Nobu Hong Kong and worked at Nobu London.


Nobu is renowned for selecting fresh high quality raw material. Norwegian Seafood Export Council was therefore honored to provide fresh and nutritious Norwegian seafood to Nobu Beijing. With enormous devotion and strict selection criteria, Nobu Beijing has selected high class seafood like Norwegian Salmon, White Halibut, Cod, King Crab and Scallops to be primary ingredients for some of Nobu Beijing’s signature dishes.


Around 4-500 guests attended the opening, among them many celebrities.
