Nordic Investment Bank Celebrates 25 Years in China

Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) celebrated on 22 August 2011 the 25 Year Anniversary of co-operation between NIB and the People’s Republic of China.
NIB operations with China started in 1985, when NIB offered the first loan to the Agricultural Bank of China in a rural project. Since then, more than 300 projects worth an amount of over 1 Billion US dollars have been financed.
“NIB’s 25 years of presence and commitment in China truly is worth celebrating. Funds provided by the Bank has helped finance projects in very important areas such as energy efficiency, healthcare, rural development and education,” says Minister Counsellor, Søren Jacobsen of the Danish Embassy in Beijing.
Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland and Sweden founded the Nordic Investment Bank in 1976 to promote sustainable growth of its member countries by providing long-term competitiveness and enhance the environment.
