Danish MAN Diesel Motors to Singapore

MAN Diesel and Turbo in Frederikshavn in Denmark will supply complete propulsion systems for four special ships for the Singapore-based shipping company Swire Pacific Offshore Operations. The order is worth 165 million Danish kroner or 32 million USD.
The Executive Board of MAN Diesel and Turbo in Frederikshavn decided in 2009 to shut down engine production in Frederikshavn, but that will not affect engines under delivery. The factiry is expected to deliver 23-25 ​​this year and a similar number next year.
“And we make money on production,” emphasizes director Poul Knudsgaard.
The Danish factory currently has 480-490 employees.
