It is now possible to apply on the Migration Board’s website for a residence permit in Sweden due to family ties. Initially, this will only apply to the embassies in Moscow and Bangkok. This will mean that those who apply through the e-service will get a decision faster.
This online service is a pilot project and will initially concern only new applications from applicants residing in the geographical areas under the responsibility of the embassies in Moscow and Bangkok. The pilot started September 4. 2011 and, if the outcome is successful, the aim is to implement the service for all applicants starting from 1 December 2011.
