Ericsson to expand EDGE network, supply MMS solution for AIS

Ericsson has been selected by Advanced Info Service Pcl. (AIS) for the second phase of its EDGE expansion in the Bangkok metropolitan area. The Swedish telecom giant was also chosen as the sole supplier for the AIS MMS solution. The contracts are valued at USD 18.7 million.
     The expansion agreement covers the second phase of the EDGE network in the Bangkok metropolitan area, including civil works and maintenance services.
     In conjunction with the expansion agreement, AIS has also chosen Ericsson as its sole MMS solution provider. Turnkey project management, systems integration, competence development services and solution support service are included in the MMS agreement.

We are now in line with our commitment to upgrade the network, enabling our customers to enhance their mobile multimedia experience with high speed data access.”
