Danish Consul General, Ms. Susanne Hyldelund, was also present and opened the event with a speech where she emphasized the importance of strengthening the cultural relations between Denmark and China. Followed by this the Choir song a number of songs from their repertoire including “I Danmark er jeg født” and the national anthem of Denmark “Der er et yndigt land”.
The Chinese students were also given the chance to hear about the latest initiative from the Innovation Centre in Shanghai, the new Top Talent Program. The Talent program is seeking to attract Chinese students to go to Danish universities and to make it interesting for them to get a career within a Danish company. Furthermore, a couple of Danish students told about how it is to live and study in Denmark, and how to combine both the life as a student and your personal life.
The Sankt Annæ Youth Choir was founded in 1972. With more than 200 singers it is one of the largest choirs in Europe. The size of the Choir enables it to perform a versatile repertoire of both contemporary and classical works of mixed voices and choral folk music. The Choir has performed together with some of the leading orchestras in Europe and frequently takes part in productions for both the national radio and television in Denmark as well as abroad.
