Chonburi Hospital partners with Denmark’s Novo Nordisk

Novo Nordisk partners with Chonburi.

Chonburi Hospital and Novo Nordisk Pharma (Thailand) Ltd. held the “Unlock and Rock Haemophilia” event on 20 October 2025 in Chonburi to raise awareness and improve understanding of haemophilia among children and their families. The initiative was supported by the haemophilia community in Eastern Thailand and the Haemophilia Patients Club of Thailand.

According to the World Federation of Haemophilia’s 2023 report, around 200,000 people live with haemophilia worldwide, including more than 2,000 in Thailand. Speakers noted common challenges such as delayed diagnosis and uneven access to specialised care.

The programme featured expert talks on home care and mental health, along with practical workshops on correct medication use, preparing emergency to-go bags, making identification bracelets and choosing suitable exercises. Patients also shared personal experiences of managing the rare, X-linked bleeding disorder.

Chonburi Hospital representatives highlighted the hospital’s long-standing cooperation with Novo Nordisk, while Novo Nordisk’s Rare Disease Business Unit said education and awareness are central to improving quality of life for people affected by rare diseases.
