At a UN signing ceremony in Hanoi, Sweden’s Ambassador Johan Ndisi reaffirmed Sweden’s support for multilateral cooperation and human rights in the digital age, stating that cybercriminals should have “no safe haven” and that implementation of the new convention is now crucial.

The Embassy of Sweden in Hanoi said the convention builds on existing frameworks and strengthens global efforts against cybercrime, with Sweden ready to contribute to the next phase.

Sweden–Vietnam tech diplomacy also advanced as Ericsson Vietnam and the Ministry of Public Security deepened strategic cooperation in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and next-generation telecommunications.

A meeting between Minister Luong Tam Quang and Ericsson CEO Rita Mokbel was noted as marking a new chapter in building a safer, smarter digital future together.
