“I believe all of us have a responsibility to help save our earth. It begins with changes to our everyday lives to ensure that we create a sustainable future. Denmark has experienced a tremendous growth over the last 3 decades while keeping our energy consumption at a stable level. We have very strong competencies within green growth and green technologies and we are happy to support this year’s Earth Hour Campaign”, shared John Nielsen at the press conference.

This is the third time John Nielsen is appointed Earth Hour Ambassador. The fellow Earth Hour Ambassadors this year are runner-up Miss Vietnam Thuy Van and singer Bao Tram. The coming weeks there will be a wide range of activities in relation to the 2014 Earth Hour campaign, with the key event to be broadcasted live from August Square in front of the Hanoi Opera House at 8pm on 29 March 2014. As part of the campaign, decorative lighting and neon advertising boards will be turned off from 8:30-9:30 pm in some of Hanoi’s landmark venues such as Ngoc Son temple, Hanoi Opera House, Truc Bach Lake and in head offices of the Municipal Government and People’s Council.
