Danish microbrewery Mikkeller opens hawker stall in Singapore

Danish craft brewery Mikkeller has opened a hawker stall at the Chinatown Complex Food Center in Singapore serving a selection of imported beers. The Danish brewery is partnering with local craft beer distributor SST Trading for its Singapore venture.

The microbrewery which was founded in 2006 in Copenhagen is serving a selection of special tap beers including Do Stuff Together, a New England pale ale with citrus fruits, the Japanese Rice Lager, which has citrus, hay, and jasmine notes, and the Kaffestout, which is a dark beer with hints of roasted coffee. In addition, Mikkeller is serving a range of other beers imported from Denmark and San Diego, California and more flavors such as the Beer Geek Fudgesicle, an imperial oatmeal stout brewed with cocoa, vanilla, and butterscotch are expected to come soon.

The stall is resembling Scandinavian aesthetics with wood furniture and chalkboard signs paying homage to the brand’s world-recognized signature. The logo for its Singapore branch has also been localized with a Merlion.

Mikkeller’s beers have been sold in over 50 countries and the Danish microbrewery has bars in China, Thailand, Japan, and South Korea.
