Danish Water Days in Myanmar was a success

In late August Danish Water Days took place in Yangon, Myanmar. The event was a great success with Danish companies gaining valuable contacts to Myanmar businesses and government officials, the Danish Embassy wrote on its website.

During 27th – 29th August 2013, the Ambassador together with eleven Danish companies participated in the Myanmar-Danish Water Days 2013 in Yangon.

The Royal Danish Embassy in Bangkok in co-operation with the Danish Water Services extended Danish business opportunities within the water sector in Myanmar by organizing the Myanmar-Danish Water Days 2013 at Kandawgyi Palace Hotel in Yangon. Eleven Danish companies met Myanmar businesses and government officials to build up relations.

The Danish delegation accompanied by the Ambassador of Denmark to Thailand, Myanmar and Cambodia Mr Mikael H. Winther, and Commercial Counsellor Mr Asbjørn Christiansen received well attention. The event was filled up with more than 60 representatives from the Myanmar business sector on 27th August and more than 130 representatives from the Myanmar government sector on 28th August.

The Myanmar-Danish Water Days 2013 included presentations by Danish companies, speeches by the World Bank, Asian Development Bank and representatives from the Myanmar government sector, B2B meetings and individual meetings with the decision makers from the Myanmar water sector. A number of exciting new initiatives and collaborations between Myanmar and the Danish water sector are already started in continuation of the event.
