Danish company Denico Food Ingredients plans to acquire Indonesian flavourings and seasonings producer PT Sinar Aroma Sentosa.
The producer is almost wholly owned by PT Sinergi Multi Lestarindo, a company listed on the Indonesian stock exchange. According to Bisnis.com, the parent company announced the planned sale on 30 September.
The seller will share more details at an online presentation on 13 October. It has not yet announced the price or how large a stake Denico intends to buy.
Potential for Danish technology
Sinar Aroma Sentosa began commercial operations in 2024. Its activities include blending flavourings and seasonings and producing aroma extracts.
SMLE says the Danish buyer could bring additional capital, food formulation technology and access to global supply chains. Meanwhile, the Indonesian parent is shifting from commodity distribution towards developing ingredient solutions supported by its own research laboratory.
Founded in Silkeborg
Dennis Petersen founded Denico in 2001. The company remains headquartered in Silkeborg, Denmark, where it operates a development and testing laboratory.
Initially, Denico supplied ingredient blends to the Danish meat industry. Today, it also develops solutions for seafood, dairy products, sauces, snacks and other food categories.
The company already works with distributors and partners in Southeast Asia, alongside other international markets.
