The Embassy of Sweden in Singapore recently welcomed two new trainees for the spring term, Astrid Nord and Sara Zellman, who will be contributing to the embassy’s work in defence cooperation, trade, and promotion.

Astrid Nord joins the Department for Defence while pursuing a Master’s degree in International Relations at Stockholm University.  She aims to deepen her understanding of international defence cooperation and gain insights into diplomatic relations in Singapore. Beyond work, she looks forward to exploring the city’s hiking trails and scenic viewpoints.

Sara Zellman will be working in the Department for Trade and Promotion while pursuing a Master’s degree in Asian Studies at Leiden University, focusing on politics, society, and the economy. She hopes to gain a deeper understanding of Sweden-Singapore relations and Singapore’s role in international trade. As a passionate foodie, she is excited to discover the diverse Singaporean food scene.
