When Ms. Satu Suikkari-Kleven and Mr. Raimo Pahkasalo arrived at Pattaya City Hall, the Director of TAT Pattaya, Mrs. Suladda Sarutilawan, and the Consultant to Pattaya City Mayor, Mr. Chalermwat Vimuktayon, were there to welcome them.

On 9 November 2016, the Ambassador to Finland in Bangkok, Ms. Satu Suikkari-Kleven, and the First Secretary of Consular Affairs, Mr. Raimo Pahkasalo, visited Pattaya.

The purpose of the Ambassador’s visit to Pattaya was to discuss the establishment of a Finnish Consulate Office in Pattaya. There are a lot of Finns either working in or travelling to Pattaya, including the many retired Finnish people living there. Last year, 143,000 Finns travelled to Thailand, while only 4,000 Thai people travelled to Finland. By establishing a Finnish Consulate Office in Pattaya, the wish is to encourage more tourism between the two countries.
