Finnish Embassy in Manila launches 2025 Climate Honours Diploma

The Embassy of Finland in Manila has launched the nomination process for the 2025 Finnish Climate Honours Diploma, an award that will recognise a journalist in the Philippines for outstanding reporting on climate and environmental issues.

Part of the Finnish Climate Collaboration, the programme is coordinated by Finland’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs and delivered through its embassies worldwide. It celebrates individuals and organisations contributing to climate action and sustainability.

In Manila, the award will go to a journalist whose work has advanced public awareness and dialogue on climate change. Eligible nominees must be based in or actively reporting in the Philippines and have demonstrated excellence in environmental journalism.

Nominations closed on September 26, with the award ceremony scheduled for October 10, 2025. The Embassy stated that the initiative reflects Finland’s commitment to supporting voices that raise awareness and drive solutions on climate challenges.
