This year’s Europe on Screen Film Festival will be held on 3-12 May 2013. Three Finnish films will be screened at the festival: The King – Jari Litmanen, a documentary about the legendary Finnish football player Jari Litmanen by Arto Koskinen, Road North, a road movie about a father and a son connecting after 35 years of separation by Mika Kaurismäki and the Christmas animation Niko & the Way to the Stars.
The festival guest will be Peter Warnier who is an expert on Sound Design and Sound Mixing. There will be film discussions at SAE Institute Jakarta on 6-8 May 2013.
Special guest will be Jari Litmanen, a legendary footballer from Finland who himself will be coming to the festival for the screening of The King on May 5 in Goethe Haus in Jakarta.
For those who’d like to enjoy the films in a rather old-school atmosphere, open air screenings will be available for eight days: 4-5 May at Tugu Kunstkring Paleis (6.15pm and 8.15pm) and 6-11 May at Erasmus Huis (6.30pm)
Niko & the Way to the Stars will be screened at Tugu Kunstkring Paleis on May 5 as an open air screening.
