Finnish tourist reports stolen Rolex and cash after Pattaya night out

A Finnish tourist in Pattaya reported that two women stole his Rolex and cash after he fell asleep in his hotel room.

A 30-year-old Finnish tourist has reported that a Rolex watch worth about 700,000 baht and 5,000 baht in cash went missing after a night out in Pattaya. The case was reported to Pattaya City Police Station at around 2am on 30 March, Pattaya News reports.

According to the police report, the man said he had been drinking alone at a bar before meeting two Thai women who worked there. He later invited them back to his hotel room in the Jomtien area of Nong Prue for more drinks.

He told police that he began to feel unusually sleepy and then fell asleep in the room. When he woke up, the two women had left. He discovered 5.000 baht in cash and his Rolex watch worth 700.000 baht missing from his hotel room.

Police have started an investigation and are reviewing security camera footage from the bar, the hotel and nearby areas to identify the two women. The suspects had not been publicly identified as of Monday morning.

Thai media noted that similar theft complaints involving foreign tourists have been reported in Pattaya in recent weeks. The case remains under investigation.
