A Finnish-designed exhibition celebrating the cultural ties between China and Finland has been shortlisted in the exhibition design category of the Dezeen Awards 2025.

Titled Harmony Across Eras: Treasures From The Collection of The First Ambassador of Finland to China, the exhibition is made by the design studio IARA in collaboration with the Embassy of Finland in China and the Guardian Art Center in Beijing.

The exhibition presents the personal collection of Finland’s first ambassador to China, Mr Cay Sundström, and highlights the long-standing diplomatic and cultural relationship between the two countries. Inspired by Finland’s natural landscapes, the interiors feature three immersive spaces — The Friendship Forest, The Ambassador’s Reception Mansion, and The Friendship Lake.

Through its blend of Finnish tranquility and Chinese aesthetics, Harmony Across Eras offers visitors an artistic journey that bridges East and West while celebrating decades of cultural exchange and friendship.

The Dezeen Awards are an international architecture, interiors, and design competition organized by the UK-based media platform Dezeen. Each year, they honor the world’s most outstanding design projects, studios, and creative innovations across multiple categories.
