A 46-year-old woman holding a Swedish passport was escorted out of the Shanghai Masters tennis tournament after causing a scene during a match on 1 October, according to Chinese media reports.

The incident occurred during a match between Matteo Berrettini and Adrian Mannarino, when the woman repeatedly shouted and heckled, disrupting play. A boy, believed to be her son, was seen attempting to calm her down.

Security officers intervened after the disturbance forced the match to halt. The woman reportedly flashed her Swedish passport at security personnel before being carried out of the stands while screaming, as spectators cheered.

Shanghai police later confirmed that the woman, identified only by the surname Xie, had consumed alcohol prior to the incident. Both she and the boy were safely escorted from the arena following the altercation.
