H&M together with Swedish Embassy support ILO in Myanmar

The Embassy of Sweden to Myanmar cooperates with H&M, a well-known Swedish clothing-retail company, to join in the International Labour Organization (ILO)’s event, which took place on 31 January 2019 at Yangon.

ILO’s event, “Weaving Gender”, focused on gender equality for both women and men in selected garment factories.

The topics discussed during the event were opened by Mr. Anders Frankenberg, Head of Development Cooperation at the Swedish Section Office in Yangon.

He mentioned the issues about Sweden’s feminist foreign policy and the importance of supporting women’s equal rights, representation and resources.

“Sweden will continue to stand up for values regarding empowerment of women, decent work conditions and sustainability,” the Swedish Embassy wrote on its Facebook page.
