Legoland water park opens in Malaysia

Legoland has opened its largest water park resort in Malaysia’s Johor state, which borders Singapore.

Asia’s first Legoland water park has 20 slides and more than 70 Lego models aimed at entertaining children aged two to 12.legoland

Highlights include the Build-A-Raft River, where kids can make their own craft out of bricks, and Joker Soaker, which dumps 350 gallons of water on those below.

This is a unique holiday destination for the entire family to enjoy,’ said Siegfried Boerst, general manager of Legoland Malaysia Resort.

‘It will offer adventure, education and fun for action-packed day trips or longer breaks.’

There are six Legolands worldwide in total: Malaysia, Florida, California, Germany, Windsor and Billund in Denmark, where Lego was born.

Lego is a portmanteau of the words for ‘play well’ in Danish and was started as a wooden toy company in 1932. It’s ‘Automatic Binding Bricks’ entered production in 1949.
