The Embassy of Denmark in the Philippines, together with the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Manila, the Swedish and Finnish embassies in Manila, is supporting a new food rescue project in Pasig City.

Pasig City, led by Mayor Vico Sotto, has signed an agreement with Scholars of Sustenance Philippines (SOS Philippines). The project will collect surplus food from restaurants, hotels, supermarkets and food producers and distribute it to people in need.

After the signing ceremony, youth volunteers helped prepare packed meals. SOS Philippines also donated kitchen equipment to support the city’s Rescue Kitchen programme.

The initiative is part of a joint Nordic effort to reduce food waste and promote circular economy solutions in the Philippines.
